In 1999, Wes entered the mortgage industry as a residential mortgage loan officer with Genesis Mortgage. Within his first year, he became one of the company’s top three producers.

In 2001, Wes joined Amera Mortgage, the mortgage division of Capitol Bancorp Limited, a publicly traded multi-billion-dollar community banking organization. In 2003, at just 26 years old, Wes was promoted to Branch Manager of Amera Mortgage’s Downriver branch. Under his leadership, the branch increased production by $45 million in its first year through exceptional recruiting, training and marketing. In just his second year at the helm, the branch ranked #2 among more than 20 branches nationwide.

Wes’s ability to develop highly effective systems and methodologies eventually led to his being contracted as the lead consultant on a multi-million-dollar CRM project for the mortgage industry.

In 2009, Wes left the mortgage industry and founded Visible Homes, which has since grown into one of Michigan’s most recognizable boutique real estate brokerages, specializing in luxury, equestrian, waterfront and other lifestyle properties.

In 2011, Wes had the distinction of being the only Realtor to appear on television with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). He also participated in a joint press release with MSHDA to further promote the state’s homeownership programs.

In 2016, Visible Homes established itself as the leader in Michigan equestrian real estate, with the state’s top equestrian real estate team. Ten years later, that leadership position remains firmly intact, with Visible Homes continuing to dominate Michigan’s equestrian property market and earning a reputation as the state’s most recognized name in equestrian real estate.

In 2019, in response to growing demand from agents around the country, Wes and his wife, Nichole McCaig, launched Equine Mogul, the coaching and education arm of Visible Homes. Equine Mogul coaches real estate agents nationwide on how to successfully navigate, market and build a business in the equestrian real estate market.

Today, Wes remains deeply involved in the operation of Visible Homes, overseeing the brokerage’s transactions and playing a hands-on role in the marketing of its listings. His career has been defined by building high-performing organizations, developing innovative marketing and business systems, and establishing Visible Homes as a recognized leader in Michigan real estate.
